There are a number of ways to purchase, or find out more, about the case studies that are written and entered into the annual IPA Effectiveness Awards.

Advertising Works is a hardback series of books, published for the IPA by WARC each year, which has that year’s competition’s winning entries and additional thought-provoking chapters from the very best people in the business. They are a highly-recommended read for anyone working in, or studying, marketing communications. The list of editors is a Planners Hall of Fame: Chris Baker, Les Binet, Simon and Tim Broadbent, Charles Channon, Neil Dawson, Gary Duckworth, Laurence Green, Alison Hoad, Paul Feldwick, Nick Kendall, Marco Rimini and Richard Storey and Andy Nairn.

The Little Book of Growth features a small selection of business transforming ideas from IPA member agencies using IPA Effectiveness Awards data. They are a representative sample of marketing challenges across markets and are examples of organic growth.

In Marketing in the Era of Accountability, Les Binet and Peter Field use the IPA Effectiveness Awards dataBANK to identify the marketing practices and metrics that truly increase profitability and explode some marketing myths.

Advertising Works and How is a 25 year compendium of advertising money-makers and answers the questions: how does advertising work; how should our advertising work; and how can we learn from brands in similar situations?

How Excess Share of Voice Wins Market Share uses 2009 Nielsen data to validate and calculate SOM effects. The effects are particularly impressive for IPA Effectiveness Awards papers.

More than 1,400 Individual case studies are also available via the IPA dataBANK, which holds all the papers submitted to IPA Effectiveness Awards competitions, including the AREA and Scottish IPA Awards, since 1980. Papers are available as PDF downloads on the main IPA site. You can search alphabetically or by year. The papers can also be found on www.warc.com the official publisher of the awards.
