The IPA provide a number of ways to help you write your Effectiveness Awards Entry:
In this film Andy Nairn, Chief Strategy Officer at Dare (and author of 14 winning Effectiveness papers) discusses the process of how he writes his papers, referring specifically to Hovis, the Grand Prix winner from 2010. The film contains invaluable content for the best way of tackling the task, particularly if you are new to the process.
Awards Advisory Service
The IPA are happy to announce a new Awards Advisory Service. Entrants can choose whether to partake in this programme by signing up at the pre-registration stage (ie before 31st January). This service is heavily subsidized by the IPA so participation for entrants costs just £200+VAT per entry on top of your pre-registration fee. For full details please click here.
Previous Case Studies
Past winners always recommend that prospective authors should widely read previous Case Studies from the IPA Databank. These can be accessed through the IPA Effectiveness Awards Search Engine (EASE). You can use the search engine at www.ipa.co.uk/ease to interrogate over 1,100 detailed case studies which form the collected learning from entries to the IPA Databank. You can search the case studies by keywords and/or filter by any parameter from questions asked in the Effectiveness Awards Entry Questionnaire. EASE is free to use and is the first search engine on the web which allows you to do this. IPA members can also contact the Information Centre directly where more complex searches can be commissioned and the results supplied by e-mail.
Advertising Works Publications
Advertising Works publications are available from the IPA Publications Shop. IPA Members have special discounts and free downloads, and can interrogate the case studies via the IPA Databank.
Awards E-mentoring
Help with writing your submission is available from past authors, drawn from the IPA's Value of Advertising Group. Email awardsmentoring@ipa.co.uk with specific questions about writing your submission, an outline of the structure of your paper and/or queries about calculating the return on marketing investment for your case. Your enquiries will be sent via the IPA to our panel of mentors, who will confidentially reply within a 72-hour period to any enquiries.
